  • Custom Salon interior at Bikini Berlin: Karisma MIAMI and Pahi Stylus

    Dec 1, 2021

A salon in the Concept Mall. Planned down to the last shelf.

For over 40 years, Mayfair Hairfashions has been a go-to destination in western Berlin—and since moving to Bikini Berlin, it has been a salon behind glass, with a view of the mall and greenery on the walls. We planned the entire space—from the floor plan down to the shelves: Karisma reverse-wash stations and MIAMI Salon chairs, freestanding Pahi Stylus styling stations—and custom furniture from Pahi for Back bar, cash register area, and storefront window.

    The Salon

    Glass, concrete, greenery.

Bikini Berlin is a concept mall near the zoo—featuring open ceilings, exposed concrete, and glass facades. Mayfair Hairfashions, led by master hairstylist Frank Gassen, has opened a salon here on the first floor that aims to be more than just a hair salon: it offers hair extensions, makeup, and its own barber area. The interior design had to complement the raw architecture while still creating a warm atmosphere—featuring wood, green, and black against a light-colored floor.

A salon designed from the ground up—not from a catalog.

    Planning

    Designed by us, custom-built.

We planned the entire salon: traffic flow, washing area, central island, and barber corner. For everything that wasn’t available off the shelf, Pahi built it according to our drawings—the lab cabinet with a sink and storage space, the built-in cabinet for the cash register, and the freestanding shelves in the storefront window.

In between are standard furniture pieces that fit the concept: freestanding Pahi “Stylus” styling stations as center stations and wall-mounted stations, with Karisma “MIAMI” Salon chairs in black in front of them.

Two stations per column, lighting in the mirror: the Stylus as an island in the middle of the room.

Planning, custom-made pieces, and mass-produced furniture—all from a single source—is how salons like this one are created.

    Scope of Delivery

    What we delivered.

    Wash and Barber

Black on gray. And a corner for the gentlemen.

In the washing area, the black Karisma MIAMI reverse-wash stations stand in front of the gray lab cabinet—towels, products, and basins are all aligned in a straight line. For men, there is a separate barber area with mirrors in oak frames and wooden shelves, set apart from the rest of the salon.

Cash register, Back bar, shelves: everything custom-made, all in the same shade of gray and wood.
